Dr. Hoffman completed his general and plastic surgery residencies at Cornell and continued his training as a fellow in hand surgery and microsurgery at New York University. Dr. Hoffman then returned to Cornell in 1987 to become the youngest division chief in the country. Under his guidance, the division expanded significantly, including the creation of the Cornell Hand Service, Children's Reconstructive Surgery Center and the Combined Division of Plastic Surgery. He has been recognized nationally and internationally for his surgical skills, published works, and ability to teach residents and students.
